Where Love Begins

The story, mission, and people behind Room for Love.

Creating spaces that feel like love

Room for Love transforms children’s bedrooms into safe, joyful spaces for families facing hardship across New Hampshire’s Seacoast.

Through thoughtful design and community collaboration, we bring hope, belonging, and comfort to life — one room, one child at a time.

A well-designed room can do more than change how a space looks. It can change how a child feels. The right environment brings stability, dignity, and a sense of ownership right where it’s needed most.

Our mission is to create beautiful, personalized bedrooms for children navigating health challenges, special needs, economic adversity, or the impact of substance use disorder — helping each child feel seen, supported, and at home in their own space.

Our Community, Our Mission

We partner with trusted social service agencies, schools, and community organizations to reach children who need a room that feels like home.

Families we serve may be rebuilding after homelessness, navigating foster care, or facing medical and financial challenges.

Each project is customized to the child’s age, personality, and needs—with comfort, safety, and joy at the center.

“Once you become a part of the Room for Love makeovers, you will be hooked. The smiles on the children’s faces makes it all worth it. Such an amazing group to volunteer our time with.”

What Guides Our Work

Caring and Compassion

We lead with empathy and listen to every story.

Community Collaboration

When neighbors give their time, hearts, and skills, love becomes visible.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors leads with heart and vision, ensuring every project reflects our mission of bringing comfort, joy, and belonging to children across New Hampshire.

What I love most about Room for Love is the joy on a child’s face when they walk into their new room. That moment when you can see it click: this space is mine.

It’s pure magic.

I love how each project brings people together. Designers, volunteers, sponsors, and families, all working side by side to create something beautiful and meaningful. It reminds me that community isn’t just about where we live; it’s about how we care for one another.

I love watching a child’s personality come to life in their room. The colors they choose, the little details that make them light up, the pride they feel in having a place that reflects who they are.

Most of all, I love that Room for Love gives children more than new furniture or paint. It gives them a sense of belonging, comfort, and hope. That’s what fills my heart every single time.”
